Help Us Grow: SAICEP Is Looking for Community Leaders

The Southeastern American Indian Cancer Health Equity Partnership (SAICEP) is currently seeking new members to join its Community Advisory Board (CAB). This advisory board plays a key role in guiding SAICEP’s mission to advance cancer health equity in American Indian communities across the Southeast. We welcome individuals who are passionate about cancer health—whether you are a cancer patient, caregiver, health professional or researcher, or someone deeply committed to improving cancer outcomes in Native communities.

CAB members will work closely with the SAICEP team to help establish community partnerships, engage with Native communities, provide cancer health education, and advise on the allocation of cancer health resources. This work is essential in ensuring that the voices and experiences of Native individuals are centered in cancer-related outreach, education, and research efforts.

Selected CAB members will receive $1,250 annually, paid in two installments of $625. Members are expected to attend four virtual or in-person meetings throughout the year, participate in one onboarding session, and contribute to activities outside of scheduled meeting times.

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a member of the SAICEP CAB, please complete the interest survey at the following link: https://unc.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6hF5P40ekWkPHdI.

For any questions, you can reach out to Ryan Dial at Ryan_Dial@med.unc.edu. This is a meaningful opportunity to shape the future of cancer health initiatives in American Indian communities—we hope you’ll join us.
