SAICEP Statement of Commitment to Protect the Indigenous Community

Historically, the Native American community has been harmed by others, including those that are working in the public health and healthcare fields. The SAICEP team will always do our best to do better for the sake of the community. We aspire to create a nurturing collaborative environment built on justice, belonging, and equality—an environment in which the rich diversity of our collective perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences flourishes.

Our collective success depends on the safe exchange of lived experiences and expertise. As a means to achieve this environment, it is paramount that all community members feel assured that the voices of all community members are valued, respected, and heard.

Public health and healthcare professionals are responsible to uphold the decency quotient to do the right thing as well as the responsibility to maintain the aforementioned values.
